#IMOS19 - Ethics and privacy around the UK’s Online Pornography ‘Age Gate’

Presented by

Moderator: Dan Raywood

About this talk

The UK government is to soon introduce a ‘gate’ to view online pornography, which will mean ensure viewers are over 18. This is to be done by uploading a passport or driving licence, or by visiting a newsagent to buy a pass only available to adults. However this has led to discussions not only on what factors have led to this introduction, but also on the privacy aspects of this, and who is responsible for securing this potentially hugely sensitive verification database. Infosecurity will be joined by experts in online privacy and psychology to discuss this controversial rule.
