The main investment theories and principles

The regulator requires you to demonstrate an understanding of the merits and limitations of the main investment theories covering key features of the main investment theories including: modern portfolio theory (MPT), multi-factor model, efficient market hypothesis (EMH), capital asset pricing model (CAPM), portfolio theory, diversification and hedging, correlation between asset classes -Total return and an awareness of beta and alpha - risk adjusted returns and basics of behavioural finance – market and individual behaviours.

This session will take you through all these issues highlighting their impact and use in investment funds.
