Network Performance Monitoring Overview

This session provides an overview of HP Software's network performance monitoring capabilities. HP SW Network Node Manager (NNMi) and associated Performance Smart Plug-Ins (iSPIs) provide enterprises with a comprehensive set of tools for monitoring the network from the dual aspects of fault and performance. In the session we will demonstrate the capabilities of the iSPI Performance for Metrics, iSPI Performance for Traffic and iSPI Performance for Quality Assurance. We will focus on the primary functionalities which range from threshold monitoring of performance metrics to advanced reports for capacity planning and trend monitoring. You will gain an understanding of how these products equip the network operator with the tools to achieve low MTTR and reduce administrative overhead by early detection of performance degradation in the network. Additionally, the session will cover how the iSPIs are positioned within the Automated Network Management (ANM) solution, which is a "Go-to-Market” strategy for HP SW NMC business.

  • Introducing the Network Operations Management Suite from HPE/Micro Focus Recorded: Sep 19 2017 57 mins
Joe Reves, Brian Kaplan, Jon Kies
Network engineering and operations teams face a complex, moving target. But unfortunately, they’re typically armed with only a disparate collection of management tools - with little or no integration. Network teams deal with equipment outages, slowdowns, security breaches, inability to reach resources, access denials, and other issues that can be caused by anything from a bad connection to devious hackers.

To address these challenges, we are now offering the 5th suite in the ITOM portfolio – Network Operations Management (NOM). Combining the functionality of Network Node Manager i (NNMi) and Network Automation (NA) and additional suite functionality such as reporting, NOM represents our path forward to managing web-scale networks with their evolving mix of physical, virtual, and software-defined networks.
Join this webinar to get an in-depth understanding about Network Operations Management including:
•Enhanced workflows designed to drive productivity and reduce
•Ongoing capability and content enhancements for both the suite and standalone products
•New licensing models to enable upgrades at an average of half the cost of a la carte purchases
  • Using Machine Learning in Software License Discovery for Greater SAM Maturity Recorded: Sep 13 2017 56 mins
    Bill Dyck, Nick Rendall
Accurate software asset management (SAM) is critical to a company’s IT operations in order to optimize usage and cost, and ensure that license compliance is achieved to avoid true-ups and penalties. Keeping a company’s software application library up-to-date for SAM has been a continuous struggle for asset managers given the time it takes for manual entry of new titles, the changing information in software titles, and the sheer number of titles across an enterprise organization. Every software title not recognized in their library causes potential license compliance breaches (leading to true-ups and potential fines) and reduces an organization’s ability to optimize their software license usage for cost optimization.

Micro Focus (HPE Software) has added the industry leading IDOL unstructured search engine to add machine learning to Universal Discovery, drastically improving in the process of software license recognition and teaching for quicker software license recognition and a consistently up-to-date SAI over time. Join us on September 13th for an introduction to this exciting new capability and to understand the business value it can bring to your SAM program.

  • Synchronizing with HPE ALM for Traceability Across Toolsets Recorded: Feb 16 2017 50 mins
    Mark Ford, TIAA
If your Dev teams are storing their requirements as User Stories in one tool and your QA teams are storing their Test Cases in HPE ALM, then chances are you have no traceability between the two. And what about Test Defects created in HPE ALM? How can you trace those back to the original User Story requirement? I’ll show you how we solved this dilemma using Tasktop to synchronize User Stories to HPE ALM Requirements, pass the User Story id throughout the HPE ALM lifecycle from Requirement to traced Test Case to linked Defect, and how we will synchronize the Test Defects back to our Dev tool and link them back to the User Story for full round trip traceability.

This session is suitable for all levels including VPs, Directors, Dev and QA managers, practitioners, and technical resources. I will cover the following:
Why Requirement and Defect traceability is important to us
The challenges faced that prompted our solution
Detailed explanation of how we implemented the solution
    The benefits realized
  • Mobile SDK Trends & Implications: Delivering Quality Mobile Apps with HPE Mobile Recorded: Feb 15 2017 57 mins
Ronnie Sternberg, SafeDK, Kimm Yeo, HPE
The use of Software Development Kits (SDKs) continues to be on the rise in mobile apps. In the last six months, we’ve seen a jump of more than 12% in the use of SDKs for creating mobile apps. These off-the-shelf services, from advertising, analytics, social, and more, are helpful in the mobile development process. They offer unique functionality and simplify the coding, while saving time and money. But SDKs are not really YOUR code. You work hard to ensure your users’ experience, safety and privacy in your own code, but can you guarantee the same for the code from these guest SDKs? What about the test implications and impact on user engagement and retention?

    Join us to hear about:
Key trends and findings for Mobile SDKs
2 major domains of risk introduced when using SDKs and associated real-life stories
