About this talk

The challenges that communicators faced twenty years ago seem rudimentary compared to today. There was a textbook that all the universities used that got updated every so often, but the changes were never too drastic. Today, we have to know about structure, standards, metadata, personalization, omnichannel, conversation design, single-sourcing, and more... the list goes on. The unifying factor comes together as content operations. How do we create a system to produce content efficiently throughout the entire supply chain of creating, managing, storing, transforming, and delivering? And how do we do this at scale? Join Rahel Anne Bailie, the ContentOps Wrangler, and her special guest, Carlos Evia, Chief Technology Office for the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at Virginia Tech, for this free one-hour show. Evia has taken on the task of bringing together industry experts to share their knowledge in a book about what content needs to work in a scalable environment and how it interacts with adjacent fields such as UX and technology. The collection, available online as an open-source textbook and in book form, will be the topic of our discussion. Participants will learn: 1) Why this topic and this book are so pertinent, and who the audiences are 2) How chapters and lessons of the book can help organizations with their content problems now 3) Which principles will be discussed and which myths dispelled "Let's Talk Content Operations" is brought to you by The Content Wrangler and Content, Seriously.
