The inflation debate: idiosyncratic, inescapable, or just plain irritating

Presented by

Andrew Chorlton, Remi Olu-Piton, and Abdallah Guezour

About this talk

The global response to the COVID pandemic, the Fed’s announcement of its new inflation target policy, along with the revitalization of an 11-year equity bull market has given light to a new discussion on inflation. As with all debates, there are two sides of the coin. However, we’re seeking to do it differently. We want to stand the coin on its side and spin it with a different discussion – what can investors do regardless of the inflation regime? Join us as Andy Chorlton, Global Head of Fixed Income, moderates a panel of complementary asset-class experts with Remi Olu-Pitan, Portfolio Manager, Multi-Asset, and Abdallah Guezour, Head of Commodities and EMD. Each offers a different perspective on approaching this topic given the current state of inflation, and Andy will field questions from you – the audience – on its near- and longer-term implications on the capital markets. Our aim is to solve the question of what can investors do to seek alternative diversification and/or income should we see a meaningful inflation spike during these unprecedented times.
