About this talk

Do you work in the disability management or workers compensation field? Are you concerned about getting ill, injured or disabled employees back into the workforce or keeping them employed? Then this week is devoted to what you do. National Return to Work Week is a grassroots effort to help ill, injured and disabled employees stay-at-work or return to work. Grim Reality for Injured, Ill or Disabled Employees: Annually, 4.1 million employees sustain work related accidents or injuries. 1.1 million loose time from work after the injury. Annually, employees loose approximately 80 million workdays directly related to their injury or illness. Employees who remain off work for 16 weeks or more seldom return to the workforce. The re-employment options for people with work related disabilities dismal. The current unemployment rate for people with disabilities 14.0 percent. What can we do collectively to help injured, ill or disabled employees continue to work and be productive. What can we do to help employees who have been off work return to some form of employment in this troubled economy. Over this week we will discuss bring everyone to the table to discuss best practices. Join us on this journey.
