New solution for environmental skin damage - Car exhaust gas & Blue light
● Until now in anti-ageing, the focus has been on collagen production and MMP-1 inhibition to prevent wrinkles. “Collagen Sustainability”, this new approach, focuses on the recycling system via promoting Endo180 by Lemon Balm Extract.
● Exposure to air pollution or smartphones can induce protein carbonylation in the stratum corneum leading to skin dullness. Silver Vine Extract with dual effects against protein carbonylation by preventing carbonylation and degrading carbonylated protein.

Naringin is a natural polyphenol found in citrus fruits. Its strong antioxidant activity and valuable biological actions makes it a perfect candidate for a well aging strategy.
Naringin is a natural polyphenol found in citrus fruits. Its strong antioxidant activity and valuable biological actions makes it a perfect candidate for a well aging strategy. However, due to its low water solubility, this molecule has been set aside from the cosmetic field…until now.
Using its enzyme technology, Hayashibara, of the Nagase Group, has developed an ‘upgraded Naringin’. The result is a glycosylated Naringin, a natural and water soluble active. This increases the synthesis of elastin fibers components and enhances elastin fibers formation. With this unique mechanism of action, it efficiently boosts skin firmness and elasticity.

Ensuring high quality standards in consumer goods is a continually evolving topic, which includes guaranteeing not only low levels of microbial contaminants, but also absence of potentially pathogenic microbes. One problematic group, known as the Burkholderia cepacia complex, consists of a group of closely related species known to challenge preservative systems and contaminate consumer goods. While traditional detection methods may take upwards of 6 days to determine presence of Burkholderia cepacia, newer rapid detection methods can shorten the time to result dramatically. Further, advances in microbial identification methods continue to aid in the characterization of recovered microbes so that the source of microbial contamination can be found and mitigated. Join us while we discuss new innovations in Burkholderia cepacia complex monitoring and identification using the Celsis AMPiScreen® rapid detection system and the AccuGENX-ID® ProSeq identification method.

Over the last decade, the human exposome, or simply the exposome has emerged as a novel research paradigm in epidemiology, biomedical, and environmental health sciences. In cosmetics there is a growing body of literature attempting to gain an understanding of the exposome of human skin and its contribution to the ageing process. The effects of exposome on the hair have not received the same attention. After having defined what the exposome is and the consequences on the hair, natural solutions will be proposed to limit its deleterious effects.

Fibrillated cellulose, branded as Valida, is manufactured by mechanically processing sustainably
sourced cellulose woodfibers to their smallest components, while maintaining fiber length. Suspension of this material in a water- or solvent-based solution will result in the formation of a highly interconnected 3-dimensional network capable of stabilizing all suspended particles or even oil-in-water droplets without the use of emulsifier.
Due to the hydrophilic nature of cellulose, dermal application will result in a hydrating skin feel, as opposed to a greasy, sticky or tacky skin feel when using conventional thickeners or surfactants. Additionally, Valida shows thixotropic behavior, meaning that applying shear will significantly lower the viscosity, whereas removing shear will quickly restore viscosity. This allows for formulations to be sprayable and well-spreadable. Microfibrillated cellulose is an excellent material to replace, or use in combination with, conventional thickeners and surfactants in formulations, providing revolutionary possibilities in terms of formulation and end-user experience. Additionally, it is a bio-based, sustainably sourced and biodegradable material contributing to the innovating image of many companies.
