About this talk

Growth Factor (GF) is a naturally occurring substance capable of stimulating cellular growth, proliferation and cell function. Due to its proven and well-known effect, numerous types of GFs are widely used in cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. This webinar will firstly discuss different types of GFs and their role in skin/hair systems. As different types of GFs target different cells, understanding GF’s mechanism and effect will help the viewers to choose the right GF for their respective purpose. Secondly, problems involved in the stability maintenance of GF will be discussed. Wild-type-EGF and wild-type-bFGF (commercially-available-EGF and bFGF) are the most widely used GFs but as they lose their activity at high temperature and do not maintain their activity for long-term storage at room temperature, it is difficult to apply them to cosmetics (cream, lotion, etc.). In order to overcome this problem, PnP Biopharm has successfully developed highly stable EGF and bFGF (PnP-stable-EGF/bFGF) which maintain their activity at high temperature and keep activity for long-term storage in solution and cosmetic environment. This content will help viewers to know further about the nature and limitations of GF, and the advantages and uniqueness of PnP Biopharm’s products. This webinar is one in a series of eight 30-minute product showcases as part of the Korea Innovation Day, hosted by Kotra (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) to bring personal care manufacturers from across the world the latest innovations from South Korean niche ingredient suppliers.
