The practice of meditation was created to prepare the body for asana and to stretch the body after movement. As we have discovered over the years, meditation has amazing benefits for the mind and body (lower blood pressure, reduces anxiety, calms the nervous system, and aids in better sleep just to name a few). With this knowledge we hold meditation to be an essential part of the practice.
